GlobalSign Partners with Inter.net to Expand Business in Brazil and Panama Market

Leading ISP to offer GlobalSign security solutions as part of existing product portfolio

Portsmouth, NH – 17 April, 2009 – GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), one of the longest established Certification Authorities (CA) and specialists in SSL Certificates and Digital Identities for securing PDF documents, has today announced a partnership with Inter.net to incorporate GlobalSign’s full range of security products  into Inter.net’s existing solution portfolio.

With more than ten years experience as an Internet Service Provider, Inter.net has built a wide, truly global customer base, including a growing number of customers located in Brazil and Panama.  Inter.net decided to seek a well established, leading international Certification Authority partner who could offer a comprehensive range of value-add security products to complement their existing product umbrella of Managed Hosting, Software Development and Media Agency services.  GlobalSign’s highly trusted and future proof product range of Digital Certificates, including SSL Certificates, Code Signing Certificates, Personal Digital ID’s and Document Signing Services will provide a synergetic offering to Inter.net’s existing and new customers.

Brazil and Panama are the first regions where Inter.net will promote GlobalSign solutions. The SSL market in Brazil is the largest in South America, showing an annual growth rate of 14%.  The two companies expect the strategic partnership to achieve a 15% SSL market share in these countries by 2010.

“We want to be able to offer safe and reliable security solutions to our customers in Brazil and Panama and we believe our partnership with GlobalSign will enable us to do this” said Mauricio Zanetti, CIO, Inter.net Brazil and Panama.  “Our customers expect the highest quality security at the best value, and we must be able to easily integrate the new offering into any existing platform.”

“The Brazil and Panama markets have very high strategic importance to the growth of GlobalSign in South America, and our newly formed partnership with Inter.net will help us expand into these countries quickly, gaining a good foundation in one the largest and fastest growing SSL Certificate markets worldwide”, said Johan Sys, CEO, GlobalSign Inc.

“Our partnership with Inter.net also initiates GlobalSign’s ninth and tenth localized regional expansions and further widens our support to encompass additional languages and time zones”, said John Murray, Vice President of Sales, GlobalSign Inc.
